Majestem® harnesses the power of biotechology using advanced plant cell culture technology. Traditionally found growing in the harsh conditions of the European Alps, Edelweiss is a protected species that thrives in remote mountainous environments. To preserve this rare plant while ensuring a reliable supply of its bioactive compounds, Croda uses advanced plant cell culture technology to produce Majestem®'s active ingredient, Leontopodium alpinum, in a controlled laboratory environment. This sustainable biotechnology approach eliminates dependence on flower harvesting, while delivering a consistent, high-quality ingredient with reliable batch-to-batch performance, unaffected by seasonal variation, weather conditions or environmental pollution.
