The science behind zero ambiguity

Consumer demand for transparency continues to grow, yet sustainability information is often difficult to interpret. More than half (53%) of consumers report finding sustainability terminology confusing.² At the same time, increasing regulatory scrutiny and tightening requirements around environmental claims are raising expectations for evidence, traceability, and disclosure. Brands need reliable sustainability data that can support product claims, reporting requirements, and internal decision-making.

This is where recognised scientific methodologies play a critical role. We align with internationally recognised frameworks, such as:

  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) — ISO 14040/14044 and European Union Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodologies
  • Product Carbon Footprinting (PCF) — GHG Protocol, ISO 14067 and Together for Sustainability Product Carbon Footprint Guidelines

These frameworks allow environmental impacts to be measured consistently across ingredients, products, and value chains. By prioritising primary supplier data wherever possible, we can improve accuracy, identify environmental hotspots, and develop meaningful pathways for impact reduction.
