The pomegranate is the fruit of the pomegranate tree, certainly one of the first plant to be cultivated in the Eastern world, for millennia. Able to maintain long thanks to its tough pericarp, pomegranate very early constituted the basic food for travelers and caravans. The Romans brought it back to Europe at the end of the Punic Wars. The genus name of the pomegranate tree, Punica, comes from the Latin puniceus, "red", referring to the scarlet colour of its flowers. For others, it derives from the Latin Malum punicum, "Punic apple", name given by the Romans. The species name granatum means “many seeds”. Since antiquity, thanks to the extraordinary generosity of seeds of its fruit, the pomegranate tree has been a symbol of life and fertility in many countries. Pomegranate fruits have moisturising, exfoliating, and toning qualities, and are perfectly suited for care for dry skin, providing dull, tired skin with a genuine brightness boost. They also constitute a useful ingredient in shampoos for fine, damaged hair.
Amiporine ER has shown to stimulate the synthesis of AQP3 and thus optimize skin hydration, to improve the communication between cells and to slow down collagen degradation by collagenases restoring skin density and firmness.
