Lipidami™ Orchid

Add to favourites
The Dendrobium genus is extremely large: it includes more than one thousand identified species. Dendrobium phalaenopsis is native to Southeast Asia, Indonesia, and Northeastern Australia. It is easily cultivated: there are many hybrids, all of which are beautiful, to please amateurs. This Dendrobium has the unique ability of adapting relatively easily to widely varying environments (temperature, light, humidity), both in the wild and in cultures, which produces abundant and frequent blossoming, depending on growth conditions. Dendrobium phalaenopsis flowers are purple in the wild. Purple was originally the most popular colour when it started being used for decoration: the darker the flower, the more appreciated it was. Nowadays, pure white, pastel, or blended colours are more popular. Since 1959, the orchid has been the symbol of Queensland, the North-Eastern state of Australia, where they grow in the wild. They are even represented on a stamp.
