Phytexcell™ Burdock

Add to favourites
Burdock is common throughout Asia and Europe. It has been used for centuries by Western herbalists, in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine and is particularly well-known for purifying the blood and treating skin infections. The root is an important source of inulin, a carbohydrate which resembles starch and whose action is close to that of penicillin. It is also a source of polyenes, substances with anti-bacterial and anti-fungal virtues. Recognized for its purgative, antibiotic and antiseptic properties, burdock is said to help the organism to eliminate toxins. Cosmetically burdock root extracts are used in deodorant preparations, hair and scalp care especially for greasy and flaky scalp or oily and acneic skin.
