The first to consume caviar were the Persians, on the shores of the Caspian Sea, who considered it to have medicinal properties and as a source of energy. It is said to have originated from the Turkish word "khavyar" meaning fish eggs. In the 17th century, after having made rare appearances in Western courts, caviar became a prized dish for the first tsars of Russia. It acquired a reputation as a rare and luxurious food. The caviar is not only a product of high gastronomy but is also source of life for the skin. It focuses all the benefits of the sea in a composition that is both complex and totally natural. Caviar is called “black gold”. The oily extract of caviar contains mainly unsaturated fatty acids, and vitamins with emollient and regenerating properties.
